Canada Goose, in extreme climes.
Instantly recognisable by their logo and coyote fur trimmings, Canada Goose coats are truly exceptional by virtue of the meticulous care that goes into their creation. For three generations now, the Canadian brand has been creating high-quality outerwear, capable of resisting even the most extreme temperatures. Far from considering themselves only suited for professionals working in the freezing cold, its collections and accessories are today favoured by many followers of fashion.
Born in the Far North.
The Canada Goose adventure began in 1957 in Canada's Far North. Faced with the challenges posed by severe meteorological conditions, entrepreneur Sam Tick founded Metro Sportswear Ltd, an outdoor clothing company. A few years later, he was joined by his son-in-law David Reiss, who developed an innovating technique of volume-based down filling. The small enterprise embarked upon the creation of lines of sportswear for men, favouring top quality insulating materials like coyote fur and goose down. Very rapidly, the label's technical know-how attracted attention. Its coats and parkas were singled out by climbers, athletes and members of scientific expeditions. In 1997, Dani Reiss, David Reiss' son, changed the name of the company to Canada Goose and decided to maintain Canadian manufacturing. Ever since, this "proud-to-be-Canadian" company has shown its engagement for the protection of the environment. Launched in 2007, its Polar Bear International (PBI) collection supports efforts to conserve the natural habitats of polar bears.
Since its creation, the brand has extended its range of items and now offers lines of Canada Goose accessories. Amongst its iconic pieces, can be found the chunky-knit textured wool bonnet or the aviator hat lined with coyote fur, which offers long-lasting warmth.
Canada Goose's commitment to sustainability.
In addition to offering superior quality products, Canada Goose is also committed to being a sustainable and responsible company. The brand uses eco-responsible materials for some of its products, such as recycled nylon for its parkas and down jackets. She also works in partnership with organizations to protect animals and the environment, and she is a member of the Sustainable Apparel Coalition.

The label has also won over the film industry. For several years now, film crews have been choosing Canada Goose outdoor clothing when they find themselves in the coldest places on earth. The brand's famous parkas have thus been seen in films National Treasure, The Day After Tomorrow and Good Luck Chuck. Screen appearances that have not gone unnoticed, contributing to the company's rise in popularity and allowing it to become an internationally-recognised brand.
