    The Mission of RAISEfashion

“RAISEfashion was founded in 2020 during a pivotal moment of reckoning within the fashion industry and beyond. What began as a collective effort by eight women, April Hennig, Alexa Geovanos, Elizabeth von der Goltz, Roopal Patel, Carly Cushnie, Nelli Kim, Nayla Touma, and myself, has since expanded into a 13-member board to provide strategic support, welcoming Andrew Taylor, Stephanie Roberson, Divya Mathur, Betty Wang, and Kutina Ruhumbika.
Our mission is to advance equity and inclusion for BIPOC designers and professionals, creating opportunities that have historically been inaccessible. We recognize the systemic barriers that have prevented so many talented individuals from thriving in fashion—whether due to limited access to retail opportunities, industry connections, or business education.
RAISEfashion was born out of a shared commitment to driving meaningful change. As industry veterans who have worked together for decades, we’ve come together to offer mentorship, guidance, and resources to address these disparities. Our goal is to create a space where talented emerging BIPOC designers can connect with the expertise and networks needed to succeed.
Since its founding, RAISEfashion has grown into more than just a resource; it has become a community and an ecosystem designed to empower designers at every stage of their journey. Through masterclasses, advisory support, networking events, and retail partnerships, we are focused on creating pathways for long-term success.
At its core, RAISEfashion is about ensuring that the fashion industry is not just more inclusive but also more equitable, fostering a future where creative talent can thrive, regardless of background or access.”

    Pieces in the Charity Sale

“We have amazing pieces curated by our board members. These aren’t just stylish items; they represent thoughtful selections from people who know and love fashion.
We’ve got Khaite jeans and sunglasses, a Chloé sweater that’s equal parts cozy and chic, and Loewe sunglasses that add something extra to any outfit. The Bottega Veneta black sandals and Givenchy wallet are great examples of timeless design that’s both practical and polished. And the Ulla Johnson dress? It’s beautiful, feminine, and effortlessly modern.
But what makes this sale even more special is that every purchase supports RAISEfashion’s mission. It’s a chance to own something exceptional while helping make a real impact.”

    Her Personal Pieces

“The pieces I’m selling feel like a trip down memory lane, each tied to a special moment in my life. Whether it’s shoes, a dress I wore for a memorable evening, or an iconic moto jacket with embroidered roses, every item holds a story.
I wanted to focus on pieces that I believe are timeless, strong, sensual, and versatile - pieces that anyone can wear and feel confident in. You’ll notice a theme: everything has a touch of black, gold, or silver. Sharing these pieces feels personal, but I love the idea of them finding new homes and becoming part of someone else’s story while supporting a great cause.”
