Brexit: What You Need to Know

 

Whether we like it or not, the UK will be definitively leaving the EU on January 1st 2021. We’ve been preparing for this to minimise the effect on your orders at Vestiaire Collective. 

Here’s how it’ll work:

For Buyers

I’m in the UK and I want to buy an item in the UK: NO CHANGES

  • You can still shop with Direct Shipping, our most affordable and sustainable shipping option, on all items in the UK under £1000.
  •  
  • You can still choose to have your item authenticated at the payment stage if you like, nothing will change here.
  •  
  • There should be no change to delivery times within the UK.

I’m in the UK and I want to buy an item in the EU: CHANGES

  • Direct Shipping is no longer available, and all items will now go via our hub for authentication. We’re working hard to bring this option back to you ASAP.
  •  
  • Unfortunately, you’ll now have to pay a 20% import VAT on the item’s price. This will appear automatically at checkout.
  •  
  • There should be no change to delivery times from the EU to the UK. However, there may be unforeseen circumstances that mean that your item may take slightly longer to arrive.

Please note that certain items now cannot be sent between the UK and EU, including exotic leathers and sunglasses.

I’m in the EU and I want to buy an item in the UK: CHANGES

For Sellers

NO CHANGES

Great news: Wherever you or your buyer are based, nothing will change for you as a seller. You can still download your pre-paid shipping label as usual and book your carrier. There are no additional documents to fill in or import costs to pay. There should also be no change to delivery times for your buyer. 

 

If items are delayed due to unforeseen circumstances, this may result in delivery delays to us and therefore your payments, as these are only triggered once your items have been checked by our quality control and authentication teams.
