Danish born, London-dwelling Alex is a stylist and brand advisor. Her work takes her around the world, but she's a fan of keeping her wardrobe constant. She might always have teabags in her bag ("they come in handy in the strangest places!" she says), but today she's sharing her love for coats, classics and the Constance...
...uniforms in my day to day life. I gravitate towards more timeless, masculine pieces - the dress section in my closet is definitely slimmer than the coat section. Probably due to my heritage and growing up in a cold country, I've got a big love for layering. We just moved house so I’ve really had a chance to reorganize myself and I'm selling some items on Vestiaire too...
...but the issue is that they tend to take up the majority of my wardrobe space. It's not a very practical love for sure! Recently, my husband has started wearing a few of the men's coats I also wear, so at least that justifies the use of space. My favorites and the ones I wear most always come from Celine.
...unless you see yourself wearing it in the next 5 years, don't buy it! I only buy things made of materials which are natural (as much as possible), and which can be mended if they break. Ideally items I can pass on to my children or grandchildren. I'm a hoarder and I really struggle when getting rid of things, because I always wonder if an item could be useful for an editorial. I collect a lot of vintage to use for references when I work with designers too.
...the hunt and discovery! I’m less interested in pieces I sell and the value of those, and more interested in the unique ideas I can find through vintage hunting. Rummaging around ideas from the past shows how relevant they still can be today. It's a constant source of inspiration, and often makes me think that a Hermès Constance bag counts as an essential!
