Meet Michelle, former fashion and beauty editor of Teen Vogue, now an in-demand styling and art direction consultant based in NYC. Her personal style is a mix of the unexpected — vintage and new, prints and textures, sporty and practical — but always in color. She’s an encyclopedia of fashion history and often knows what’s next before it happens - so her Fall favorites will probably become yours soon!
I've always loved that Miu Miu collection — the technical jersey pieces mixed with really playful moments. Often you see full looks on the runway and it’s hard to imagine them in your wardrobe, but pieces from these collections can stand alone and still feel special. Since they are so sporty, you can make them your own by styling them with ruffles, pleats, lace, or other soft elements.
That was in 2019, and I’ve been a convert ever since. I use it to find archive designer pieces, especially from European designers. I love that I can shop vintage from all around the world. The thrill of the hunt is so fun because you never know what you are going to find! It's fulfilling even if you don't buy anything.
Robin Givhan, her excellent fashion coverage is written through a lens that I really admire. Miuccia Prada, because she's my fashion hero and I love everything she stands for. Chloe Sevigny, she has a deep understanding of what she does and doesn’t like, and can make any piece of clothing feel genuine and authentic to her own style.
