Jenny Walton's Closet Sale
Want to dress with the kind of vibrant, charming eclecticism that turns every sidewalk into a runway? Now you can, thanks to artist and writer Jenny Walton. Jenny's debut book, Jenny Sais Quoi: Adventures in Vintage & Personal Style, is an inspiring, multidimensional visual diary of her journey of her iconic (and timeless) individual style.
We've partnered with Jenny to give you rare access to some of her favorite vintage pieces, as well as a behind-the-scenes look into what inspired Jenny Sais Quoi.
About the Book
"I wanted people to be able to have more fun with dressing. In Jenny Sais Quoi, I talk about all of the fun mindset shifts around putting together what you wear. Ideas like color-paletting, or putting together an outfit the way an artist might assemble a painting. You'll spot some of my favorite Vestiaire Collective finds in the book, like the white lace Prada dress on page 135 that paletted perfectly behind a big, bright red Campari spritz at Bar Luce, which we paired next to a table filled with cherries from the farmers market in Union Square."
On Her Pieces
"I love a classic speedy, and there are several of them in the sale, as I've collected more than my fair share over time. There is a Balenciaga trench coat that actually belonged to Franca Sozzani. There are two pieces (the gold leather choker and skirt), from my favorite Prada collections, Spring 2008. The paillette Prada dress is one of the final pieces from Fall 2011. I loved these finale dresses; they always reminded me of the rainbow fish in the way the paillettes are layered. Plus, you sort of jingle when you walk."

Vintage Shopping 101
"If vintage seems overwhelming, I would start with accessories. Not only do accessory materials, such as metal, stones, and leather, typically last longer, but they also often add just the right dash of flair. If you're new to vintage, going all the way in immediately with an over-the-top, head-to-toe something might feel too overwhelming. Whereas a little brooch, a vintage earring, a belt, or a clutch adds that perfect sprinkling of personality to a look."
