Meet The Sellers: HK’s Chic Women

Today we meet Ruby, Cecilia and Nat, some of Hong Kong’s chicest citizens. We delve inside their wardrobes, and discover their best-kept fashion secrets.

    Ruby Kwan

Hi Ruby! Tell us a little about yourself.

I work in an international bank, so my style during weekdays and weekends is quite different. I used to buy a lot of fashion, but then I had a realisation that I didn’t need to! So, now I’m downsizing my wardrobe - with the help of Vestiaire Collective, of course!

What’s the most precious item that you own?

I don’t have anything that I’m particularly precious about! I think the most valuable to me are my engagement ring and my wedding ring, but that’s not because of the price tag, but the love and commitment from my husband.

    What’s your best-kept fashion secret?

Find your own personal style! For me it’s about a few styling formulas that I know are guaranteed winners. For example, a fancy blouse with a pencil skirt, heels and jewellery is my go-to work formula. Once you’ve worked these out, then you can find pieces to complete them!

    Cecilia Ngan

Hi Cecilia! Tell us a little about yourself.

Born and raised in Hong Kong, I’m just a girl who treasures all the little things in life. My passions are art and fashion, and I’m always inspired by travel and everyday experiences.

    What’s your best-kept fashion secret?

Fashion for me is all about showing your character by wearing clothes. I believe that what makes us feel most comfortable is what looks best on us. Having confidence in ourselves is beautiful - that’s my best-kept fashion secret.

What’s an item you’ll never sell?

I don’t think there’s an item that I would keep forever. But I bought a vintage Chanel watch from Vestiaire Collective recently and I wouldn’t sell it - I don’t wear watches very often but this one is special to me.

    Nat Kwan

Hi Nat! Tell us a little about yourself.

NK: I was born in Canada and came back to Hong Kong to study in high school, then I studied fashion in New York after that. I used to work in fashion buying, then I switched to become an English teacher.

    What’s your best-kept fashion secret?

I prefer to shop for more timeless pieces that I can mix and match for different occasions, and wear multiple times.

What’s an item you’ll never sell?

My Cartier Love bracelet because it’s my graduation present from my mother.
