Meet Eliza Edwards

Hi Eliza. So tell us a little about yourself....

I’m a journalist based in Berlin and I’ve worked in fashion for 5 years. My first job was working with fast fashion brands in PR, and I was horrified to find out the impact of impossibly cheap clothes.

What is The Slow Exposure?

It’s a research-led Instagram platform that tells the stories of people and brands who are invested in the wellbeing of our environment, and who are embracing more careful ways of consuming.

Who is your favourite sustainable designer and why?

Anyone producing exciting upcycling projects always catches my eye, whether it’s Rave Review’s blankets or Luke Goldblatt’s vintage leather sofa dress (it’s insane, check it out), I’m here for it.

Why did you want to work with us?

I’ve always followed Vestiaire Collective. It doesn’t have that typical ‘eco’ approach. They understand that a strong aesthetic is needed to promote a conscious attitude to consumerism, and that’s what Slow Exposure is all about.

Why should Vestiaire members listen to The Slow Exposure?

It’s a series of interviews with people who bring powerful aesthetics and sustainable behaviours together, educating us about how to exist in harmony with our planet. I learned so much with each conversation, and I know that Vestiaire’s community will too.
