She’s deeply engaged in helping everyone to make small - but crucial - changes to the way we consume. All of this means she’s a natural fit for our new film. Hey Aja! Tell us a little about yourself...
I write about sustainable fashion, and how we all need to examine the habits that have brought us to such a weird place. I also look at the way sustainable fashion intersects with things like feminism, race and colonisation.
What’s the one action that we can all do to make more sustainable fashion choices?
Please for the love of God buy more second-hand clothing! There's more clothes on Earth than humanity will ever need. We're producing things which are going straight to the landfill, so every second-hand purchase you make offsets that in some way. So congratulations, you've come to the right place.
How do you carry sustainability through into your everyday life?
I think all of us have become more sustainable this year as the pandemic has done a great job of forcing us to separate needs from wants. I think about how every purchase I make causes a ripple effect on this earth, and think long and hard about what that ripple will be.
It means you consider the effects your fashion has on the planet every time you think about adding to your wardrobe.
