VERY RARE, ONLY FOR LUXURY COLLECTORS, this micro octagonal print was created in London by visionary talent Holliday & Brown in the mid-1960s and from 2003 has been specially reissued for Prada as the label suggests. The history of Holliday & Brown of London dates back to 1919 when Aubrey Brown opened a small boutique specializing in men's ties in the heart of Mayfair, the “sartorial” district of London. Soon after, he visited the United States where his ties quickly became fashionable. With his brother and a friend, Holliday & Brown Ltd. was officially launched in 1926. H&B quickly became the “go-to” tie company, especially with unique graphic designs and patterns which, while varied, have a precise style that makes them highly recognizable and iconic. Success led to a move to Savile Row in the 1960s and H & B's extraordinary prints and eccentric colors continued to strengthen the brand's appeal. In 2000, the Italian family business Mantero acquired the Holliday & Brown brand and archives: over 100 volumes, endless collections of designs, hundreds of samples and designs created on fabric were transferred to Mantero's head office. Via Volta in Como, Italy. So, it turns out Prada has been doing clothing and accessory collaborations using these Holliday & Brown prints for over a decade. Considered highly collectable because produced in limited series, the collaborations included clothing and accessories.
