The Vintage Edox Watch 10016-357RN-NIR2 Chronograph Big Date Men's BlackxBlack Watch is from a well-known brand in the luxury/sport watch industry known for being precise, durable and quality made. This watch is both stylish and with great function, wear it to work or around town.  

The watch includes a silver-tone stainless steel case with a black rubber strap. Black stainless steel bezel. Black dial with gold-tone trim, hands, hour index markers, crown, and chronograph buttons. Minute markers around the outer rim. Dial Type: Analog. Luminescent/Reflective hands and markers. The date display is at the 12 o'clock position. Quartz battery movement. Scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. Screw down crown. Round case shape, case size: 46 mm, case thickness: 13.5 mm. Band width: 23 mm. Goldtone Butterfly clasp.

  Hacking Feature / Battery Life
The battery life for the watch is approximately 54 months (4.5 years). The Ronda 5040.B Movement has a power-saving mechanism with a pulled-out stem (aka hacking which also reduces battery drain). The reduction of consumption with the crown pulled out is approximately 70%. If you leave your crown pulled out because you aren't wearing the watch as frequently as usual, just be careful of how you store it. Don't forget that the crown is pulled out or unscrewed or you can catch it on something and potentially break the stem. It's also worth noting that leaving the chronograph function running constantly will cause the battery to drain faster.

-The Ronda caliber 5040 is a Swiss-made quartz chronograph watch movement found in many luxury and microbrand watches. There are two variations of the Ronda 5040 including the 5040.B and 5040.D. Side by side the specs are identical between these two movements. The difference is the way the calendar is displayed. The 5040.D has a regular date at 4 pm, while the 5040.B offers a big date at noon.  For the 5040.B  according to the Ronda website, there are two versions of this movement: a Swiss parts version with 6 jewels and nickel plated finish, and a 13-jewel version with gold plated finish

Water Resistance:      300 m (30 ATM) - class 1 diver watch suitable for air diving
As with any water-capable watch it is strongly recommended that periodically / seasonally to have the watch be taken to the shop for a water pressure test to see if any of the gaskets require replacing before taking it into the water. 
FYI:  I have only used the watch as a fashion watch and have not used it in the water.
