Named one of WatchPro magazine's "HOT 100"—the 100 most influential figures in the American watch industry. How can we help you?

Vintage 1960s Longines Ultra-Chron men's watch, high frequency, with papers and tag – Stainless steel

Special "high frequency" watch – Completely original – In excellent condition, with papers

In 1967, to celebrate the brand's centennial, Longines launched the Ultra-Chron, a new line of extremely precise wristwatches. Depending on the model, the balance wheel oscillated at a frequency of 28,800 or 36,000 vibrations per hour, guaranteeing remarkable accuracy.

The models with a balance wheel oscillating at 36,000 vibrations per hour, twice the frequency of many traditional watches, achieved the highest frequency of the time, ensuring exceptional precision. Only a handful of exceptional watches, from a select few brands, reach 36,000 vibrations per hour.

Today we present this original Ultra Chrono, a rare and exceptional model, complete with all its original accessories: papers, booklets, notepad, and even the tag! Its retro design is absolutely stunning, with perfectly matching hour markers and hands.

Its monocoque case, made from a single piece, originally gave it great robustness. At 35 mm in diameter, it falls between a Rolex Date and a Rolex Datejust.

It has all its original parts and is in superb condition. Our photos don't do it justice.

The bezel and lugs have never been polished; the upper edges and the tips of the lugs are so sharp they could almost cut you.

Its original dial, untouched, is practically new, even under magnification.

One of our watchmakers completely disassembled it, down to the last screw, then cleaned and oiled it. It runs perfectly and with great precision. Although winding is straightforward, the reversing wheels on these watches are often not perfectly smooth, and winding requires a firm hand. If you prefer to avoid manual winding, using a watch winder might be a good idea.

As a finishing touch, it is fitted with what appears to be its original strap and buckle.

As mentioned, the watch comes with all its original accessories: papers, booklets, notepad, and even the tag.
