Whereas most GMT watches show the second time zone using an extra hand, the Montblanc 1858 GMT features its GMT indication without hands, in an extremely intuitive and readable way. The Montblanc 1858 GMT indicates the second time zone with a red square that moves along the outside of the dial. The red square is positioned next to a fixed black anodised aluminium bezel enhanced with a 24-hour clock. This system also indicates the half-hours. Other functions include the date and a central seconds hand. The watch, housed in a 42 mm stainless steel case, is equipped with a blue sunray dial and an interchangeable blue rubber strap with a precise adjustment system. The engraving on the back represents the continents, oceans and names of cities located in each of the 24 time zones, offering a world time indication.
