Omega

Silver

EXTREMELY RARE ITEM: UNOBTAINABLE, AND EXCLUSIVE ART DECO rectangular silver-plated Tank wristwatch with a black leather strap. Made by OMEGA Watch Co & TISSOT in collaboration with SSIH, case 29mm x 34mm. VINTAGE attributable to the '20s-'30s. CONDITION: excellent state of preservation, working (only the end corner of the strap needs gluing, see last photo), from a private collection of a 20th-century Venetian Villa, always kept with extreme care and displayed in a showcase.
NOTES:
This watch is a piece of history that combines the excellence of Omega with the quality of Tissot from the golden age of the SSIH collaboration.

Omega-Tissot:

In 1925, Omega and Tissot began an important collaboration. Shortly after (in 1930 to be exact), the Ssih Holding Company (Societe Suisse pour l'Industrie Horlogere) was founded with Omega and Tissot as its first members. In the 1930s, the two companies even sold some watches under the Omega and Tissot brand, such as the very rare watch in question.

Note: Amelia Earhart wore an Omega caliber 28.9 when she disappeared during her transpacific crossing. Stainless steel examples were used by the commanders and pilots of Italo Balbo's air force, who used them on transatlantic crossings.

Omega-Tissot:
