A handsome Rolex Oyster Royal reference 6246 from November 1957, presenting a silvered honeycomb-textured dial with applied gold dagger markers, Explorer-style Arabic 3, 6 and 9, and a manually wound Rolex calibre 710 housed in a classic 35mm stainless steel Oyster case.

The Oyster Royal was Rolex's more attainable manual-wind sibling to the Oyster Perpetual during the 1940s and 50s, sharing the same famous waterproof Oyster case. Inside beats the Rolex calibre 710 — a 15-jewel hand-wound movement running at 18,000 vph, fitted with the Super-Shock-Resist system that this dial proudly announces with its “Shock-Resisting” signature.

The dial is the real star here: a fine honeycomb waffle pattern has aged evenly to a warm silvered tone, with the gilt dagger markers and flowing dauphine hands still crisp and catching the light beautifully. The stainless steel case retains honest definition across its lugs with only light surface marks consistent with its decades of wear, and the Rolex-signed crown is present and functional.
