The longest-standing trunk-maker in Paris.
The amazing adventure that is Goyard began in 1792, well before trunk-makers came into their own. At the time, Pierre-François Martin founded the House of Goyard. The company would be taken over first by a worker, Louis-Henri Morel and then by an apprentice, François Goyard. Ever since 1998, Jean-Michel Signoles has been at the helm of this prestigious leather goods company. Today, it embodies French-style luxury and has distinguished itself by virtue of its outstanding production techniques.
Goyardine, a genuine hallmark.
Each House of leather goods has a different speciality. Goyard’s is unquestionably its age-old canvas, known as Goyardine. If its appearance is reminiscent of leather, it is actually coated canvas, made using hemp, linen and cotton. With its famous chevron pattern, it adorns bags for women and for men and gives them a unique and instantly recognisable appearance. Goyard canvas is used for all the brand’s creations, from wallets and travel bags to satchels and saddlebags.
Exceptional pieces for modern men.
Today, the brand Goyard spreads its know-how far and wide and distributes its canvas bags in the four corners of the globe thanks to its outlets in New-York, Seoul, San Francisco and Tokyo. In Paris, its oldest boutique is still located on Rue Saint-Honoré but to track down some of the brand’s real gems, Vestiaire Collective is your best bet.
