True Grail peace. 1960-70s Jil Sander!

A double-breasted jacket believed to be from the very early years of JIL SANDER, made around the time the Hamburg boutique first opened.

The label features the early logo used before the well-known bold wordmark. After researching this tag, it matches the boutique signage from the Hamburg store at the time. Based on this, the jacket was likely produced between the brand’s founding in 1968 and before its first official collections, around the early 1970s.

The fabric is wool from the British mill
Hield Brothers,
a supplier known for formalwear fabrics, including tuxedos.

The construction is very classic and solid, while still showing a restrained design that aligns with later JIL SANDER aesthetics.
Features a wide peak lapel, 6-button double-breasted front, and a formal, black-tie-leaning cut. Fully lined.

Condition
There is a black heart-shaped fabric repair on the left pocket area, present since I acquired the jacket.
It is unclear whether this was done to cover damage or as an intentional detail. Please check the photos carefully.

This piece has been kept in storage, and I would prefer it to go to someone who truly appreciates early JIL SANDER.
