Spending a lot of time thinking about the function and genesis of the sartorial concept, Mihara began his conquest of the world from his native Japan and soon after “assaulted” Europe, starting with Milan, ending with Paris. At first, the designer's work focused on puffy, oversized silhouettes that were either deconstructed, offbeat or distressed, but he soon evolved in a radically different direction - a raw, almost brutal take on traditional menswear, declaring that a disruptor has arrived on the European and refined men's scene. At this time, a frequent element of Yasuhiro's aesthetic were copycat artifacts discovered after years of erosion, appearing on a number of garments that looked "earth-aged, water-stained, fire-scorched , air-dried to a paper-like finish. .
