Celine SS20 Union Wash ‘Serge’ Denim

—
The Celine SS20 collection, with it’s high-waisted flares, leather jackets, and denim shirts is Hedi Slimane’s time capsule to 70’s rock and roll. The ‘Serge’ jeans are the ultimate distillation of this vision, named after Serge Gainsbourg (see slide 5), a musician best known for his iconic 70’s work. For me, these are the best pair of jeans Hedi Slimane ever designed. The fit, with their elongated, flattering flare and the faded, irreducibly vintage wash make these jeans truly a masterpiece. They’re also exceedingly rare, and for two main reasons. 1) due to covid, they were produced in limited quantities, and 2)The inseam is so long that unaltered, or even just long pairs generally are difficult to find (because unlike dior jeans, these have a rather wide leg opening so if you’re shorter, alterations are almost a necessity).

Size 28 with a 34.5 inch inseam
