Tara Jarmon, fresh and feminine.
Famed for its elegant colourful dresses, Tara Jarmon has made a name for itself as one the favourite brands of French ladies. Somehow managing to be both modern and retro, with an added touch of fantasy, this house of design is a marriage of Parisian style and British extravagance, both carried over into its ready-to-wear and leather goods collections.
When Canadian charm meets Parisian elegance.
Born of the love affair between a French entrepreneur and a young Canadian girl newly arrived in Paris, Tara Jarmon was founded in 1995. That was the year that Tara and David Jarmon, who had just got married and become business partners, decided to open their first boutique in Paris, on the banks of the Canal Saint-Martin. With stylish, independent women in mind, the label gradually established itself in the heart of Parisian ladies, turning its clothing and fashion accessories into must-haves. The designer went onto become one of the essential neo-couture brands of French fashion landscape - a status it has maintained ever since.
Bold prints, bright colours and luxury materials... Those are the words that can be used to describe the range of purses, handbags and clutches created by Tara Jarmon, which are both contemporary and timeless. From its beginnings, the brand has been having fun with classics, which it revisits each season, like its Explorer bag, different versions including one in coloured suede and another in graphic print leather. The models are 100% designed and created in France, which is a way of retaining the Made in France spirit the company holds dear.
From Parisian workshop to the red carpet.
After establishing itself in French ladies' walk-in wardrobes, Tara Jarmon found its place in celebrities' closets. With fans including Emma de Caunes, Lio and Marie-Amélie Seigner, the brand has carved a place for itself on red carpets, its colourful, glamourous pieces have established themselves amongst the big names of haute couture. With collections ranging from exotic to romantic, the label never ceases to surprise us with its collaborations - its pairing with La Pâtisserie des Rêves in 2015, for example, revisiting the famous Paris-Brest dessert. More recently, the brand took its inspiration from La La Land. For the film's release, Colombe Campana, who has been the company's creative director since 2017, designed a line of dresses in dazzling colours and with a retro vibe, reminiscent of the universe of American movies.
By playing around with materials, patterns and styles, the young creative director has injected a breath of fresh air into the Tara Jarmon brand. If each season sees a stream of new pieces, always with a fresh take, we still continue to find the Parisian company's star products, including:
