Dior glasses, love what you see in French haute couture.
A real emblem of French chic, the House of Dior has successfully shaken up the codes of fashion, but without foregoing any of its elegance. The creations emerging from the glasses department, which offers women styles that are sophisticated but with a hint of avant garde, are on a par with the label's reputation.
From the Dior store at 30 Avenue Montaigne to a symbol of French chic.
Christian Dior founded his couture house in 1946, opening his first boutique at the now famous Parisian address, 30 Avenue Montaigne. At the same time, he launched his Corolle collection in collaboration with Pierre Cardin, its floral forms finding instant appeal amongst those already in the know. Pioneering, the line revealed women's legs and marked the advent of a whole new style of dress. On his death in 1957, the helm of the House of Dior was taken over by a very young Yves Saint-Laurent. A succession of other creative directors, each bringing their own brand of crazy, followed. To name but two, there was John Galliano and, more recently, Hedi Slimane. In 1998, Victoire de Castellane's touch was to create a Dior High Jewellery department.
Today, the House of Dior keeps up with the times, as it always has done, at the discretion of the brains of the outfit, naturally. Nowadays, it proposes collections of leather goods, perfumery, watchmaking and jewellery, sold in over 230 boutiques around the world. Every year, the label also renews its lines of glasses, the first designs having come out in the late 1960s. Whether we are talking about J'adore perfume or the Lady Dior bag, the brand enlists the services of renowned muses to promote its designs, from Marion Cotillard and Gisele Bündchen to Jennifer Lawrence and Sharon Stone.
Outstanding, sophisticated lines.
The unusual lines of Dior glasses ensure the different collections stand out from all other brands. The frames produced are made of fine steel or slightly thicker plastic, enclosing coloured lenses like the So Real Pop collection by Dior. The House of Dior also makes a statement with its vintage-style butterfly or aviator shapes, alongside oversized frames and shield glasses. In any event, the label is not afraid of asserting its style in the glasses stakes and deftly injects a breath of fresh air into the world of fashion at every opportunity. Refined and elegant, Dior glasses are graced with just the right level of eccentricity at just the right time.
Dior glasses either boast simple lines with a vintage vibe, or lay claim to elaborate and sophisticated silhouettes. Whatever their appearance, they stand out from other frames by their audacious characteristics and women find them very attractive. It is difficult to pick just one pair of Dior glasses, but the following are worth more than a second look:
