Celine Couture History: 
CELINE is a French ready-to-wear and leather luxury goods brand that has been owned by LVMH group since 1996. It was founded in 1945 by Celine Vipiana. The goal was to deliver fashion to the everyday woman,  advocating for practical clothing over frivolity. In the 1960s with the acquisition of a leather goods factory in Florence Italy. Vipiana added leather accessories, including handbags, wallets, belts, and gloves. In the 1970s Celine went international with new boutiques opening across the globe, from Monte Carlo to Beverly Hills to Hong Kong.  1973 marked a logo redesign, in which Vipiana revealed intertwined Cs (a nod to the Parisian landmark Arc de Triomphe) that were seen on the brand's first signature "C" Sulky canvas. Vipiana remained the designer of Celine until she died in 1997 at 84 years of age.  In 1996 Celine officially became a part of the LVMH group, the parent company of Louis Vuitton.
