Jacquemus, the story of a young French brand.
The story of the brand Jacquemus is the story of Simon Porte, a self-taught designer who made his foray into the world of fashion at a very young age. He was fortunate enough to receive the support of a leading name in the industry, i.e. Adrian Joffe, the President of the brand Comme des Garçons. Back in 2009, he founded his own brand, Jacquemus, at the tender age of just 19. The name is a reference to the mother he had just lost. It was very obvious that the region in which he grew up, Provence, influenced his collections of clothing and accessories. The designer not only created clothes, but also women's bags which became very successful very quickly.
A collection of bags just like the brand, joyful and inventive.
Through the different styles of bags and clothes for women, Simon Porte brought a breath of freedom and independence to fashion. In reference to the South, the colours are bright and just make you want to get away. The bags and clutches are very well-thought-out and the styles are pared-down. Seams are kept to a minimum. As for materials, leather features prominently but certain designs, capable of transporting us to a beach on a hot summer's day, are made of straw. With the collections, the designer wanted to tell his customers a story first and foremost, and pay homage to women everywhere.
A designer whose brand offers something for everyone.
Although women are at the heart of his work, Simon Porte devotes some of his efforts to collections of menswear. Alongside clothing, you will find accessories, footwear and bags.
Vestiaire Collective is a site which specialises in the sale and purchase of fashion, and women's bags feature prominently in the offering. As for the brand Jacquemus, the following three designs are well-placed in the ranking of the label’s signature pieces:
