A truly unique vintage dress of Hardy Amies, a tailor from London's famous Savile Row. He also designed costumes for films, including "2001: A Space Odyssey" by Stanley Kubrick. For many decades (from the 1950s to the 1990s), Amies was also the "court" designer of Queen Elizabeth II! And the dress is made in a truly royal way. It is made entirely of silk, the lining also, the top is detached velvet on chiffon. The size is about 40 with a narrow waist. Underneath there is a whole corset construction with underwires, numerous hooks and a zipper, hand-finished. The top of the dress is fastened at the back with snaps, each of which is hand-trimmed with silk. At the front, the dress has a "water" neckline, at the bottom it is finished with a special weight to keep its shape. The color is somewhere between cobalt and indigo. The dress is in very good condition, it has a few defects, which, however, will not be visible in future use. There is one very small discoloration at the front, on the edge of the neckline, but it is lost in the gathers, there are also a few slightly larger discolorations at the back, near the neckline and fastening, but they are on the bottom and invisible from the outside. There are also spots on the lining, but they are also not visible from the outside. Dimensions (measured corset and lining below the waist): bust circuit 94 cm, waist circuit 74 cm, hips 100 cm (but of course it should be looser), dress length (measured from the top of the corset, without straps) 85 cm.
