JOHN GALLIANO Vintage Black Satin Evening Skirt Suit with Lace Trim FR38 US4

This tailored evening suit from John Galliano is utterly transformed into pure elegance with an incredible fabric and row upon row of narrow black lace. The self-belted jacket has a notched lapel, a self-belt, small shoulder pads, and a three-button closure. The collar, cuffs, and bottom of the jacket below the belt are covered in multiple rows of narrow black lace. The skirt's surprise element comes in the form of three flirtatious, black chiffon gores at the hemline that are trimmed in black lace. The fabric is my very favvorite for a satin finish: 60% wool and 40% silk, giving it both strength and luster. Both the jacket and skirt are lined in black silk charmeuse. This suit is considered vintage (more than twenty years old), coming from Galliano's 2001 Collection. Labeled French size 38 and US size 4. Please refer to the measurements for the best guidance regarding actual size.* 

JACKET MEASUREMENTS
- Shoulder width is 15.5"
- Chest is 34" 
- Waist is 28"
- Sleeve length is 23" 
- Length is 20.25" down center back excluding collar.

SKIRT MEASUREMENTS
- Waist is 25"
- Hips are 36" at about 8" below waist.  
- Length is 21" 

CONDITION 
This suit shows none of the telltale signs of having ever been worn which I would usually see at the underarms, back of the neck, creases at elbows and/or the skirt from sitting, etc., etc., so I have listed it as "new without tags." It is in excellent condition and I truly do not believe it has been worn. The size label in the jacket has several pinholes from various tags in the past, and there is a little nick on one of the buttons.
