PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE SCULPTURAL BLACK JACKET — SIZE 3

An exceptional piece of wearable architecture from Pleats Please Issey Miyake, cut in the house’s instantly recognisable pleated fabric and designed with the effortless generosity, movement and intelligence for which the Japanese label is celebrated.

The silhouette is beautifully dramatic, with an expansive sculptural collar that can be arranged, folded and wrapped in multiple ways. Worn open, it falls into an elegant waterfall shape; fastened or swept around the neck, it becomes more directional and cocooning. The asymmetric front, elongated drape and softly pointed hem create a striking sense of movement, while the fine permanent pleating gives the piece its distinctive texture and fluid structure.

Despite its statement silhouette, it is extraordinarily easy to wear: lightweight, comfortable, crease-resistant and endlessly adaptable. It can be styled as a jacket, cardigan or dramatic evening layer, making it equally compelling over tailoring, silk, denim or a minimalist black dress.

Labelled a size 3, but in true Issey Miyake fashion the cut is exceptionally generous and accommodating. The pleated construction expands beautifully and would comfortably suit a broad range of sizes, fitting up to approximately a UK 20 with ease, depending on the desired drape.

Made in Japan from 100% polyester and presented in beautiful pre-loved condition.

A rare, timeless and highly collectible piece that captures the essence of Issey Miyake: innovative, sculptural and quietly commanding. Not simply clothing, but a transformative design object to be worn and styled entirely your own way.
