I bought this in Bazaar in 1966, when I lived in London. It is preloved, but still in very good condition, especially considering it’s 60 years old! The brass buttons show a bit of wear, but the jacket is otherwise excellent.

The material is a creamy beige linen - high quality and with a slubbed effect, best shown in the closeup photo.

It’s beautifully cut - you can see the seaming in the photos. There are darts at the elbows and bust. There are also tapes inside to ensure it hangs perfectly at the front.

NB it’s washable, but it’s been in the back of a wardrobe for a very long time, so I have just had it professionally dry cleaned.
