Blue

- Made in Japan. Authentic, vintage, never worn as it was kept as part of my collection from my trip to Japan.

- Composition: silk.

- Size XL/42. Length: 132cm; width (armpit to armpit): 63cm; sleeve: 42cm.

- Color: light blue.

This exceptional piece, brought back from a traditional Japanese artisan shop, embodies the understated elegance and mastery of silk workshops. The silky fabric, a luminous gray-blue that shimmers almost like pearl in the light, features a meticulously detailed narrative composition on the back: a procession of figures in period costumes, straw hats, spears, and drums, walking among majestic pine trees (matsu) and blossoming plum trees. In the distance, a traditional building stands on a hill, while a red artist's seal marks the work.

The loose, straight cut, wide sleeves characteristic of a kimono, a contrasting darker collar, and a hem adorned with stylized white graphic motifs create a fluid and distinguished silhouette. The interior reveals a silky cream lining that enhances the overall refinement. Every detail—the fabric texture, the poses of the figures, the depth of the landscape—testifies to rare craftsmanship, far removed from mass production.

Acquiring this piece means owning a unique item, virtually impossible to find in France, that blends Japanese cultural heritage with contemporary wearability. It can be worn as formal attire or martial arts clothing, or as a sophisticated layer over jeans or black trousers, asserting a style that is both timeless and distinctive.

Kimono silk cardi coat
