Zac Posen

Black

This Zac Posen jacket reads as a sculptural, mid-2000s-to-early-2010s statement coat with strong couture-inspired tailoring details. It blends feminine hourglass shaping with slightly futuristic, almost armor-like accents.
Key design elements:

Silhouette:
The coat is sharply fitted through the waist and flares into an A-line hem, creating a very dramatic, corseted shape — classic Zac Posen. He’s known for emphasizing the waist and building garments almost architecturally around the body.
Collar:
The oversized rounded collar is one of the standout features. It appears to be made from a quilted or embossed leather (possibly lambskin or faux leather), adding texture and contrast against the matte body fabric. The exaggerated scale gives it a cinematic, high-fashion feel.
Closure & Hardware:
The oversized glossy black buttons create a strong vertical line down the front. They almost resemble patent resin or lacquered hardware, contributing to the sleek monochromatic look.
Waist Detailing:
The double horizontal strap details at the waist mimic harness tabs or belt loops, giving the coat a slightly military or equestrian influence while visually cinching the torso.
