Vintage Gerry Weber skirt Made in West Germany, corset waist, velvet, Art Nouveau pattern, size XS.

An absolutely unique vintage skirt by Gerry Weber, a German womenswear manufacturer founded in 1973 in Halle/Westphalia.

The 'Made in West Germany' label indicates production before 1990 – before the reunification of Germany – which further confirms the authenticity of this piece as vintage.

A highly flared midi skirt with a beautiful Art Nouveau pattern balancing between floral motifs, leaves, and an artistic, terrazzo-like Italian abstraction.

A very atmospheric top section: a high, corset-style waistband with a pointed yoke made of soft, smooth velvet. The decorative corset lacing is a mock-up – the strings are permanently sewn on.

A gathered skirt with a lot of volume. At the bottom, two stripes of black velvet ribbon.

The model has been professionally shortened – both the outer layer and the lining have been hemmed. There is at least 4 cm of spare fabric, allowing for possible lengthening.

No composition label. The outer fabric is most likely viscose. The lining is probably acetate or an acetate-polyester blend. The velvet elements are cotton.

Very good condition.
