Beautiful vintage Pleats Please Issey Miyake blouse from Spring/Summer 2004 (Product Code: PP41-JJ773).

Crafted in the brand’s signature heat-set pleated fabric, this piece features a navy and white gingham check, a sleeveless silhouette, button-down front, and an integrated tie-neck bow that can be styled multiple ways. A timeless example of Issey Miyake’s innovative pleating from the early 2000s.

This piece comes from my mother’s personal collection, built over decades through regular trips to Japan, where she carefully selected pieces from high-end boutiques and department stores.

Fashion has deep roots in our family - my grandmother’s side of the family were founders of the historic Boni-Moriya department store in Hakodate, which helped shape a lifelong appreciation for quality, craftsmanship, and Japanese design. My mother is now downsizing her collection, and I’m helping find homes for a selection of pieces.
