About the Artist:

Pierre Marie (born in 1982) is a A Parisian artist and decorator who defines himself as an "ornamentalist," he is passionate about hand-drawn ornamentation and narrative motifs. A long-time collaborator with Hermès since 2009, he has created more than thirty silk scarves for the house and developed motifs featured in the ready-to-wear and lifestyle collections. Beyond silk, his artistic practice extends to the applied arts—tapestries and rugs woven in Aubusson, stained glass, lighting, and ceramics—created with master craftsmen. For Hermès, he has also designed architectural decorative elements, including stained-glass installations, reflecting the house's emphasis on craftsmanship and materials. His imagery draws inspiration from nature, history, folklore, and the archives of Émile Hermès. It is rendered with meticulous precision of line and layering of colors suited to demanding techniques such as silkscreen printing and fire enameling. The result is exuberant and finely detailed compositions that elegantly embrace the circular geometry of the rigid bracelets.

About the design:

Designed by Pierre Marie in 2012, Point d’Orgue is a tribute to the grandeur of the organ and musical ornamentation. The square composition assembles organ pipe stops with keyboards, bellows, bells, and a regulator clock into a theatrical “bouquet,” echoing 18th-century engravings from historical treatises on organ building. On the rigid bracelet, the motif is artfully framed: the vertical rows of pipes and ornamental medallions read like rhythmic stripes around the wrist, the deep purple background accentuating the architecture and lending the piece its ceremonial character and rich octave range.
