The beginnings of Kalinger jewelry date back to Paris, in October 1986. Kalinger was created by a couple, Catherine and Laurent Martinez, who had a small workshop in Paris, 28 rue des Archives, in the Marais district of Paris. After four years of creation, they registered their brand, Kalinger. Their style is the typically French style of the time, oversized, flowery and of Byzantine inspiration. They used metals, glass, gold and stones, usually large in size. It's hard for a vintage jewelry lover not to love a Kalinger piece as it embodies vintage French jewelry. Each piece of jewelry is handcrafted Haute Couture, their high quality and craftsmanship make Kalinger pieces highly collectible. The couple behind Kalinger continued to create and design until 1997 when they closed. All Kalinger parts were manufactured between 1986 and 1997.
