Hermès, the elegantly modern luxury fashion house.
It was in 1837 that the House of Hermès came into being, at the instigation of Thierry Hermès. A true family business, the brand very quickly crossed the French borders in pursuit of achieving global success. Inspired by the equestrian world, Hermès dresses and accessorises women with its collections of understated, pared-down and minimalist pieces. Today the brand embodies French elegance across the globe.
Hermès jewels: making women look and feel a million dollars.
Initially known for its saddle-making business, Hermès widened its ranges from the 1920s onwards to encompass ready-to-wear, watchmaking, accessories, jewellery and interior decoration. Lines of jewellery by Hermès come in a multitude of versions with different shapes, styles and materials. Characterised by impeccable finishing, Hermès jewels are also recognisable by their modern design and clean lines. We can still find many equestrian details in the different ranges, but the marine world also features prominently in Hermès designs. Symbols like anchors, stirrups, locks, etc. have all repeatedly been reinvented for a century now, adapting to changing trends, but keeping up the brand's heritage. The French designer Pierre Hardy has been creating lines of jewellery for Hermès since 2002. In 2010, he launched a collection of « High Jewellery » and designed exceptional pieces in white and pink gold and diamonds. The brand continues to align modernity and tradition to this day, by revisiting classic designs and bringing them into line with updated tastes. The collaboration with Apple Watch is a prime example!
Legendary collections by Hermès jewellery.
Ever since it was launched, Hermès jewellery has made a name for itself by coming up with legendary, timeless designs. The famous Kelly bag is the design behind tie-in necklaces, bracelets and rings, all adorned with the famous Touret clasp. Among the ranges of Hermès jewellery, after 80 years the anchor chain bracelet remains one of the fashion house's must-have pieces. With its generous forms and silver links attached to an anchor, the design is directly inspired by the marine world, thus veering away from equestrian inspirations. Another cult piece, the Collier de Chien collection breaks with the sedate image the House has cultivated, with bold jewels teeming with originality.
