Where it all began for the line Chanel Joaillerie, an homage to Coco.
In 1932, Gabrielle Chanel, known as Coco, designed the very first high jewellery line created by the House, which she called Bijoux de Diamants (diamond jewels). It may come as a surprise to learn that jewels did not make their reappearance on the scene until the 1990s. Karl Lagerfeld launched a jewellery collection in 1993 as a way of paying homage to Coco. Four years later, the House of Chanel opened a dedicated shop on prestigious Place Vendôme in Paris.
Chanel pendants: wearing the fashion house's DNA around your neck.
Chanel puts a great deal of thought into the design of its jewellery, as it does all pieces the House produces. The brand's use of precious metals, pearls and stones ensures the items the process brings to life are of the highest-possible quality. Women's pendants by Chanel are the very embodiment of the label's characterful identity. Amongst the different versions available, there are the two entwined 'C's, for example, which is Chanel's legendary logo, alongside the Baroque pendant and the Camélia necklace.
