Superb 1950s/1960s Guy Laroche brooch, tested; it's 9-karat gold.

This magnificent brooch is like new.
There is indeed a hallmark on the clasp, but it's illegible. But in France, the hallmark for 9-karat gold didn't exist before 1994, because only 24-karat and 18-karat gold were authorized to be sold as gold. After 1994, 9-karat gold was authorized for sale, and the corresponding hallmark is the clover. I believe my brooch predates this date.
In any case, the touchstone test confirms that it is 9-karat gold.

Superbe broche années 50/60 Guy Laroche testée, elle est en or 9 carats 

Cette magnifique broche est comme neuve. 
Il y’a bien un poinçon au niveau du fermoir sauf qu’il est illisible. Mais en France, le poinçon pour l’or 9 carats n’existait pas avant 1994. car seul l’or 24 et 18 carats etaient autorisés à être mis en vente comme de l’or. Après 1994, l’or 9 k sera autorisé à la vente et le poinçon correspondant est le trèfle. Je pense que ma broche est antérieure à cette date. 
Toujours est-il que le test à pierre  de touche confirme qu’il s’agit d’or 9 carats.
