Yves Saint Laurent: a revolution in women's fashion.
The couture house YSL was founded in 1961, at the impetus of Yves Saint Laurent and one of his friends, Pierre Bergé. Amongst the highpoints of the brand, the presentation of the Mondrian collection in 1965 left a lasting impression on fashion history. The designer did not shy away from breaking fashion codes by launching the first tuxedo for women, along with safari jackets, trouser suits and jumpsuits. His collections of ready-to-wear are completed by bags and footwear and many of the designs are also legendary.

Yves Saint Laurent shoes are unsurprisingly similar to the image of the prestigious House of Fashion: they finish off an outfit with style and instil confidence in the woman lucky enough to be wearing them. The designer, who never lost his avant-garde streak, was behind the success of platform shoes in the 1970s. The platform feature would be seen again on the Tribute design, a legendary sandal with a high stiletto heel. The shoes also feature a bevelled platform at the front. The elegant sandals exist in smooth leather and patent leather versions and are must-haves for any stylish woman.

YSL sandals are not the brand's only winning design in the domain of footwear. The House has succeeded in appropriating every category and creating iconic designs of ankle boots, moccasins and even trainers. On Vestiaire Collective, all women can get off on the right foot.
