Givenchy

Gold

Rich gold, brown, and blue tones form a tapestry of houses and trees across this
Givenchy men’s silk shirt, with the print flowing seamlessly across a fluid, softly
lustrous surface. The absence of visible hardware or overt branding allows the
intricate landscape motif to take center stage, a quietly elaborate gesture in the
tradition of French luxury shirting. This piece likely dates from the late 1990s to
the early 2000s, a period when Givenchy was navigating the transition between John
Galliano’s brief but vivid tenure (1995–96) and the emerging vision of Alexander
McQueen (1996–2001), both of whom left their mark on the maison’s expressive
menswear.
Founded in 1952 by Hubert de Givenchy, the house is renowned for its
architectural approach to tailoring and its devotion to textiles—here,
rendered in pure silk with a painterly, almost narrative print. The shirt’s
construction is generous at the shoulders and chest, cut to an estimated size L
based on measurements, with clean finishing throughout and no visible flaws.
Condition is very good, with the silk retaining its sheen and the print its vibrancy; no
snags, stains, or visible wear to note. The mannequin normally wears a size M.
