Fendi, a success-story born in Rome.
Adele and Edoardo Fendi were originally behind the now world-famous brand. The House of Fendi came into being in Rome in 1925. The elegant designs were greeted with much enthusiasm in Italy, before winning over the hearts and minds of women the world over. In the beginning, however, Fendi was no more than a small fur workshop and a leather goods shop. The couple from Rome's five daughters would inject a wind of change into the company. They invited Karl Lagerfeld to join the House. Success was quick to come when Fendi launched its ready-to-wear lines in 1977. Today, Fendi's offering includes clothing, accessories and leather goods, for men and for women.
Legendary pieces which will never grow old.
Fendi started out in the world of fashion by reinterpreting fur and crafting items of leather goods. Ready-to-wear then enabled the brand to carve out a firm position for itself in the world of luxury fashion. When a third generation joined the company in 1987, in the form of Silvia Fendi, the brand reached a turning point. The Selleria line was relaunched and the offering included limited editions of hand-made bags. In 1997, Silvia designed the Baguette bag. Over a thousand different versions of the legendary design would eventually be brought out. Today, it is the very symbol of the Italian House.
