Story about the Design:
A contemporary composition that bridges Hermès’ newest métier—beauty—with its equestrian heritage. Nick Doyle transposes his signature denim-inlay aesthetic into trompe-l’œil quilting and patchwork effects on silk twill; across this field sit Hermès beauty icons (lipsticks, powder brushes) and refined tack (whips, stylized bits), arranged like a vanity-meets-saddle room still life. The Caban/Orange/Gris colorway frames the motif with a deep navy “caban” ground, crisp grey geometry and a punch of Hermès orange piping, giving dramatic contrast whether worn flat or folded.

Artist's Story:
Nick Doyle (b. 1983) is an American contemporary artist based in Brooklyn, represented by Perrotin. Best known for sculptural wall works made from collaged denim, Doyle explores Americana—greed, excess, rugged individualism—through meticulous craft and wit. His practice spans kinetic installations and satirical tableaux; the Hermès collaboration channels his denim inlay language into silk, translating material irony into wearable art. Doyle holds an MFA from CUNY Hunter College and previously worked in Tom Sachs’ studio.
