The Jaeger-LeCoultre brand is the culmination of an unusual story of two expert watchmakers, originally from the Joux Valley in Jura, who decided to join forces. On the one hand there was Antoine LeCoultre, who created his own workshop in 1833 and rapidly became a pioneer in terms of new watchmaking processes. On the other hand, Edmond Jaeger founded his company in Paris in 1880. He continued to specialise in the development of new mechanisms for measuring speed, like chronographs. These two talented men came together in 1903 for a project the aim of which was to develop an ultra-thin watch, and thus began an exceptional collaboration.
