Dinh Van jewels, minimalism par excellence.
The House of Dinh Van was founded in 1965, with the earnest ambition of bringing a wind of change to the world of jewellery. After ten years working at Cartier, Jean Dinh Van decided to found a fashion house of his own and modernise luxury jewellery, to make it wearable day-to-day. The Parisian jeweller then introduced the concept of minimalism. As an anti-conformist, the founder of Dinh Van would find inspiration in everyday objects and make a radical break with jewellery’s traditional code system.
The story of the legendary Menottes range.
In keeping with the philosophy of the Dinh Van brand, the Menottes line embodies understatement and reserves full honours for the clasps. Whereas clasps are discreet on most pieces of jewellery, Jean Dinh Van is happy to have them feature as the main attraction. The Menottes bracelet was first created in 1975 and it soon became a cult piece for the renowned Parisian jeweller. Mounted on a simple cord available in a multitude of different colours, Menottes jewels come in versions in a variety of different materials and in various formats.
The whole collection can be found on Vestiaire Collective.
If the bracelet is the best-known piece from the Menottes line, it is worth remembering that other designs are also available. The range of women’s jewellery known as Menottes also features a ring, earrings and a necklace.
Numerous variations of bracelets, rings and necklaces from the Menottes range are available on our online platform. You can also find other emblematic collections designed by Dinh Van:
