Nike, the story of a visionary brand ahead of its time.
The epic story of Nike began in 1971 in the USA with two men, Bill Bowerman et Phil Knight. They were complementary in that they each brought their individual expertise, in sports and in accounting, to the table. They initially founded a company called Blue Ribbon Sports, or BRS, in 1964 to sell athletics-related designs at attractive prices. That experience was so successful that the two partners launched Nike with a view to creating their own designs which they would produce in the USA. The famous logo with the wing quickly appeared on the scene. Christened "Swoosh", it was designed by one of Phil Knight's students. That was the beginning of an unprecedented success story in the world of sportswear, involving the design of clothing, accessories and footwear. Over the years, the label has managed to revolutionise the world of sports and fashion thanks to unique aesthetics and innovating new technologies.
Trainers fit for a whole new generation.
In today's world, women's shoes designed by Nike are recognisable at a glance. The recipe for the success of the designs contains several ingredients. Firstly, over successive collections the brand gradually improved the comfort and performance of its products, so customers felt good whether they were out walking around or practising the sport of their choice. Next, the Nike team adjusted its thinking to female customers by offering more and more designs with added style and a less bulky feel. Today, trainers are no longer reserved only for sporting activities. Finally, the brand adopted a flawless system of communications, based on a system of positive values and world-famous sporting muses.
