1970's CORUM Vintage Classic Mens Automatic Luxury Watch - Stainless Steel

Gorgeous Original Condition - Fully Corum with Buckle

Corum is best known today for designs that lean bold and inventive, but this reference shows the brand’s quieter talent: a well-judged, classically proportioned dress watch that feels timeless on the wrist.

Today's offering showcases this prime example of a vintage Corum watch with classic design and very fine automatic movement.

At 35mm, it sits in the sweet spot for a traditional men’s watch - elegant, slim, and refined, with presence to wear as an everyday piece or for dressier occassions. The straight lugs and clean bezel give it a crisp, architectural profile, and the overall effect is one of restraint done at a high level.

The dial is where the watch earns its charm. Rather than a flat silver plane, it’s finished with a distinctive silk-grain/linen texture that catches light in shifting bands - somewhat subtle, but unmistakably luxurious. Most linen textured dials use a finer and lighter engraved pattern. There's a certain boldness and masculinity in the stronger grain of this one.

Roman numerals give it a more formal cadence, while the date at six keeps the symmetry intact and adds interest. It’s the kind of classic that doesn’t shout; it simply looks correct from a lot of angles.

Powering the watch is Corum's finshished ETA based 2824 automatic movement. 

Corum’s use of an ETA 2824 - based automatic movement reflects a thoughtful and historically consistent approach. During this period, Corum positioned itself among serious Swiss manufacturers who valued proven mechanics paired with strong design, knowing that the longevity of a watch depended as much on reliability and serviceability as on aesthetics. 

The same movement architecture was trusted by prestigious houses such as Vacheron Constantin, IWC, and Panerai in watches commanding far higher prices, precisely because it offered consistent performance and a long service life: the Vacheron Constantin Fiftysix Automatic, IWC Mark XV and early Mark XVI, Panerai Luminor Base amd early Luminor Marina automatics, Hublot Classic Fusion Automatic, the Chopard Mille Miglia Automatic, and many other watches use 2824 ebauches. 

It has all of its original parts down to hands, crown, and its original Corum buckle and presents in gorgeous condition - a 9.6 out of 10.

Its case presents as mint with light signs of previous polishing. Its untouched original dial is mint.
