Azzedine Alaia Fall/Winter 1989, Embellished Suede Cropped Jacket
From the Fall/Winter 1989 collection, presented at Alaïa's half-renovated Marais studio in Paris. The show where it rained on the models mid-runway. This is the embellished version of the cropped suede jacket from that collection. The plain versions come up occasionally; this one doesn't.
100% velvet lamb leather, taupe. Oversized shawl collar, cropped fit, single button closure, fully acetate-lined. The metal stud motifs are punched directly through the suede, Alaia's own technique, not applied decoration.
ALAÏA PARIS label. FR 36. Made in France. Very good vintage condition.
