The illustrious brand Cartier came into being in 1847 under the stewardship of one Louis-François Cartier. The company specialised in luxury jewellery, a domain with which Louis-François was familiar having spent a number of years learning from a master craftsman. For the new Panthère watch, their choice fell upon the young actress Courtney Eaton, who appeared in an advert directed by Sofia Coppola. Then another actress from the new generation, Kaya Scodelario, was signed up to promote the "Clash" line.
