The founding of a House of haute couture.
Yves Saint Laurent refused to do anything like everyone else. After founding his couture house in 1961, he was the very first designer to create luxury ready-to-wear, with his line called Saint Laurent Rive Gauche. His primary aim as a worshipper of all things feminine was to reinvent women’s wardrobes. He designed iconic women’s clothing like tuxedos and trouser suits. Menswear collections became very successful later under Hedi Slimane, who came onto the scene in 1996.
Shoes, the must-have accessory for modern men.
The designer Yves Saint Laurent had an undeniable passion for clothing, but he also adored accessories of all descriptions, including bags and shoes. The pieces were showcased to their best advantage with each new season. In the men’s footwear collections, vintage sneakers rub shoulders with elegantly dressy boots. Traditional moccasins and leather lace-ups will complete a chic look whereas low-top trainers by Saint Laurent are an ideal way of finishing off a more casual ensemble.
Success after success for Saint Laurent.
From leather boots with a cowboy feel and high-top trainers with a more streetwear vibe to espadrilles, the House of Saint Laurent designs and manufactures footwear of the highest possible quality. As years go by, the designs become iconic, and men take as much pleasure in collecting them as in wearing each pair.
At Saint Laurent, numerous styles of men’s shoes have marked hearts and minds. On Vestiaire Collective, you can choose from products from the archives, but there are also more recent items from the latest collections:
